Austin Friday Weather: The Rain Chance Jumps to 86 Percent for the Last Day of Early Voting, and Halloween's Rain Chance More Than Doubles to 45
The midday feed made Friday wetter and Saturday wetter: Halloween night now carries a rain code at 45 percent, Sunday dries back out at 83.7, and Election Day's showers held at 53 percent.

Austin stood at 70.3 degrees and overcast at midday Friday, feeling like 69.5, and the feed under the last day of early voting got considerably wetter. Friday's rain chance jumped from 62 percent in the 10 a.m. reading to 86 percent, still carrying the rain code (63), with a high of 70.9 degrees and a low of 63.4. Voters heading out in the final hours of early voting should expect rain, not just the chance of it.
Halloween changed the most. Saturday's rain chance more than doubled, from 17 percent to 45 percent, and its weather code firmed to rain (63) at a high of 73.2 degrees and a low of 64.8. That is a material change for a Saturday night built outdoors - Sixth Street's street party, the Texas-Mississippi State night game at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium and neighborhood trick-or-treating all now sit under a genuine rain chance rather than a passing mention.
The recovery behind it is quick. Sunday turns overcast and warm at 83.7 degrees with the rain chance back down to 17 percent, and Monday reaches 86.9 at 12 percent - the warm, dry start to election week. Election Day itself, Tuesday, held exactly where the morning put it: showers (code 80) at a 53 percent chance, a high of 77.8 and a low of 68.7.
Wednesday clears completely - code 0, a high of 78.7 and a 4 percent rain chance - and Thursday returns to overcast at 81.2 with a 10 percent chance. The pattern in one line: a wet finish to early voting, a wet Halloween night, and then a warm, mostly dry election week with one showery Tuesday in the middle of it.
