Austin Friday Weather: Rain Chance Climbs to 62 Percent for the Last Day of Early Voting, Halloween Holds at 73, and Election Day Showers Rise to 53
The 10 a.m. feed firmed up Friday's rain for voters heading to the polls, kept Halloween dry enough at a 17 percent chance, and nudged Election Day's showers to the week's highest reading.

Friday's rain firmed up on the 10 a.m. feed. The station's live Open-Meteo feed, read at about 10:05 a.m., put Austin at 65.6 degrees under overcast skies, and Friday's own code held at moderate rain (63) with a high of 71.2 degrees, a low of 63.4 and a precipitation chance that climbed from 47 percent at 8 a.m. to 62 percent. Voters heading out for the last day of early voting should plan on the umbrella being used, not just carried.
Halloween stays workable. Saturday's high eased from 73.6 to 73.2 degrees with a low of 64.8, its precipitation chance ticked from 15 to 17 percent, and its code sits at 65 - a damp-leaning day that still reads as a go for trick-or-treating, the Texas-Mississippi State crowd at Darrell K. Royal and the Sixth Street closures, with a light layer for after dark. Sunday is the warm break: overcast, 83.7 degrees, a low of 65 and a 17 percent chance.
Monday holds warm and overcast at 86.9 degrees with a 12 percent chance, and Election Day's rain odds rose again. Tuesday's code held at rain showers (80), its precipitation chance climbed from 49 to 53 percent - the week's highest - with a high of 77.8 and a low of 68.7 across Travis County's 201 Election Day sites.
Behind the election the feed clears: Wednesday is clear at 78.7 degrees with a 4 percent chance, and Thursday is overcast at 81.2 with a 10 percent chance. All figures are single-feed reads and will be re-read for the 17:00 file.
