Privacy Policy

What AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS Austin collects when you use this site — and what we never do with it.

What we collect

Only what you hand us and what keeps the site running: (1) if you sign up for a newsletter, your email address and the briefings you picked; (2) if you send a message through the Contact page, whatever you type into that form; (3) basic technical logs (pages requested, timestamps, browser type) that every web server records to operate and secure the site.

What we never do

We never sell your information. We never trade it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. Newsletter email is used for the briefings you asked for — nothing else.

Birthday shout-outs

If a reader orders a Birthday Shout-Out, the station holds the buyer’s name and email, the celebrant’s name, the birthday date, the shout-out message and the photo sent with the order. Payment is handled by Stripe — the station never sees or stores a card number. Every spot is reviewed by the station desk before anything is published; an approved spot (photo, name, message) appears on the Birthday Shout-Outs page and on the radio for that one day. Buyers may only send photos they have the right to use.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it runs no third-party ad trackers. Weather data on our pages is fetched by our own server from a public weather service; your browser does not send that service your information.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any newsletter with one click in the email itself. To have a message you sent us deleted, or to ask what we hold about you, email contact@austincapitalnews.com and we will take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with the date it took effect. This version is in effect from October 22, 2026.
