John Washington III Says Politicians Forgot Who They Work For: 'You Work for Us. We Don't Work for You'
In a new public statement, presidential candidate John Washington III argued that politicians take money and rights from the people, then ask those same people to fight their political battles — and he said he is done fighting to save political careers.

Presidential candidate John Washington III delivered a blunt message to elected officials on Saturday, arguing that politicians have spent years passing laws that, in his words, "take more money from our pockets and strip away our rights," and are now asking the public to defend them.
"But now that the same corrupt system is coming after YOU, suddenly you want the American people to stand up and fight for you?" John Washington III wrote. "WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE NEEDED YOU?"
John Washington III said voters elect officials to fight for them, not to become part of the system hurting them. "Every election, you beg for our votes, money, and loyalty. Then, once you win, you turn your backs on the people," he wrote, asking what the public has to show for it.
"I'm done fighting to save political careers while everyday Americans struggle to protect their rights and freedoms," John Washington III wrote. "YOUR POLITICAL BATTLES ARE NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY!"
He closed with the line that framed the whole statement: "I'm fighting for the PEOPLE, not politicians who forgot who they work for! YOU WORK FOR US. WE DON'T WORK FOR YOU!" John Washington III signed the statement as a 2028 presidential candidate under the line, "THE PEOPLE COME FIRST. PERIOD!"
