Austin Police Ask for Help Identifying Suspect in a String of East Austin Business Burglaries
APD's Commercial Burglary Unit says one suspect hit several East Austin businesses between March and October, taking money from safes and cash registers — including at The Dainty Dillo on East Cesar Chavez Street.

Austin police are asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected of breaking into several East Austin businesses and stealing money from safes and cash registers, the department said in a news release dated October 30.
The burglaries span March 2026 to October 2026, according to the Austin Police Department, and include The Dainty Dillo at 3201 E. Cesar Chavez Street. In each break-in, police said, the suspect concealed his face by scrunching a hoodie tightly over his head. The case number is 26-2790466.
The department's Commercial Burglary Unit released surveillance images of the suspect in hopes that someone recognizes him. Police have not released a name — the point of the release is identification, and detectives are asking anyone who knows who he is to come forward.
