Election Day Eve in Travis County: Monday Is the Last Full Day to Get Ready for Tuesday's Vote - 201 Centers, 7 to 7, and Rain in the Forecast
Early voting is over. What is left is one quiet Monday to find your center, check your sample ballot and plan around a rainy Tuesday - because on November 3, Travis County votes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line at 7 still votes.

Travis County goes into Election Day eve with the early-voting chapter closed. Early voting for the joint general and special elections ran from Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 30, the Travis County Clerk's election pages show - and it opened with a record: nearly 41,000 people cast ballots on the first day, a first-day midterm turnout record this century, according to Texas Secretary of State data reported by the Austin Current. County Clerk Dyana Limon-Mercado said her office set out to make this the most accessible election in the community's history, the Current reported.
Tuesday's mechanics are countywide. The county will operate 201 Election Day vote centers, and a Travis County voter may vote at any of them - not only the one nearest home - with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone in line at 7 p.m. still votes. Monday is the day to use the county's voter lookup and sample ballot at votetravis.gov, pick a center, and decide when to go.
The one complication in tonight's forecast is the weather. The station's live feed now codes Election Day as rain (code 65) with a 71 percent precipitation probability, and the day cooled in tonight's update to a high of 74.6 with a low of 66. A rain plan - an early trip, an umbrella, and time in hand before the 7 p.m. line cutoff - is the practical close to the county's record-setting early-voting season.
