Washington Rallies Past Nebraska 17-10: Two Touchdowns in the Final 90 Seconds Stun Lincoln (AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS)

For 58 minutes in Lincoln, Nebraska had the Halloween blackout game won. Then Washington scored two touchdowns in 15 seconds and left Memorial Stadium with a 17-10 victory on Saturday night, the Associated Press reported.

The comeback started with a quarterback change: Demond Williams Jr., sidelined since fracturing a rib on October 9 against Iowa, replaced starter Elijah Brown early in the fourth quarter with Washington trailing 7-3. Facing fourth-and-18 inside the final two minutes, Williams found Chris Lawson for a falling 24-yard sideline catch to keep the drive alive — and two plays later hit Lawson again on a 25-yard catch-and-run touchdown with 1:30 left for Washington's first lead of the night, the AP and Deadspin reported. Lawson finished with 12 catches for 155 yards.

On the very next Nebraska snap, Alex McLaughlin intercepted Anthony Colandrea — his third pick of the night — and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown and a 17-7 lead with 1:15 to play. Nebraska's 42-yard field goal with 31 seconds left made it a one-score game, but Lawson recovered the onside kick to seal it.

It is Nebraska's third straight loss, each after leading in the fourth quarter, and the Cornhuskers fall to 5-3 and 2-3 in the Big Ten; Colandrea finished 24-of-44 for 255 yards with three interceptions against one early touchdown. Washington, also 5-3 and 2-3, heads home to face Penn State on November 7 with its season turned around in a minute and a half.
