Travis County Early Voting Runs Late Tonight: Seven Sites Open Until 10 p.m., and the Count Passes 367,000
The early-voting clock is the story now. Seven Travis County sites stay open until 10 p.m. Thursday and again Friday - the last chance to vote early - while the county's early total climbed past 367,000 ballots, about 39 percent of its registered voters.

Travis County's early vote has entered its long-hours finish. Early voting for the November 3 election runs through Friday, October 30, and on the final two days - Thursday and Friday - seven of the county's largest sites stay open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., three hours past the 7 p.m. close at every other location, according to the County Clerk's official early-voting flyer. Voters registered in Travis County may cast a ballot at any open site in the county.
The extended-hours list spans the county: the Ben Hur Shrine Center, Lakeway Activity Center, Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex, the Pflugerville ISD Rock Gym, Randalls Brodie, the Travis County Clerk's office on Airport Boulevard and the UT Texas Union, which the Daily Texan confirmed is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days. After Friday there is no weekend or Monday option - the next chance to vote is Election Day itself, Tuesday, November 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The turnout underneath the hours is already large. The Statplate early-voting tracker, read Thursday evening, puts Travis County at 367,829 ballots cast through October 29 - 39 percent of the county's 945,505 registered voters, against 32 percent statewide. The county figure builds on the 360,302 ballots this station reported through Wednesday, the tenth day of early voting.
One deadline inside the deadline belongs to students and recent movers. Texans registered in another county may be able to cast a limited ballot - statewide races only - but only in person during early voting, and only at the Clerk's office at 5501 Airport Boulevard, the Daily Texan reported. That option ends when early voting ends Friday night; it does not exist on Election Day. For everyone else, the practical news is simple: the polls are open late tonight and tomorrow, and then they close until Tuesday.
