Travis County's early-voting surge has passed the midway mark with a quarter of the county already voted. Through Saturday, October 24 — Day 6 of the 12-day early-voting period — 237,489 ballots had been cast in Travis County, equal to 25.04 percent of the county's 948,575 registered voters, according to the county tally compiled from Travis County Clerk figures.

The cumulative count is built mostly in person: 223,428 voters had voted early in person through Saturday, alongside 13,449 mail ballots received and 612 limited ballots. Saturday alone added 25,450 ballots — 24,575 of them in person — as weekend voters kept the pace that made the opening day the county's biggest first day of midterm early voting this century.

The busiest sites through Day 6 were the same three that led the opening: Bee Cave City Hall with 9,314 voters, the Ben Hur Shrine Center with 9,256 and the Pflugerville ISD Rock Gym with 8,521, followed by Austin Energy Headquarters at 7,895.

Five days of early voting remain. Polls at the county's 44 vote centers run through Friday, October 30 — with seven sites open until 10 p.m. on the final two days — and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Travis County voters may cast a ballot at any vote center in the county.
