Olympic Champion Gabby Thomas Marries Spencer McManes at the Travis County Courthouse in Austin
The three-time Olympic gold medalist exchanged vows Monday in a private ceremony at the Heman Marion Sweatt courthouse — the same city where McManes proposed on a rooftop in March 2025 and where she celebrated a Western-themed bachelorette weekend days before.

Olympic sprint champion Gabby Thomas married Spencer McManes in Austin on Monday, exchanging vows in a private ceremony at the Heman Marion Sweatt Travis County Courthouse, according to EssentiallySports' report on her announcement. Thomas shared pictures from the day on Instagram, showing the newlyweds leaving the courthouse, and captioned the post: "Mr. & Mrs. McManes. Can't wait to meet you at the altar."
Thomas wore a fitted white strapless mini dress with white pointed-toe heels, and McManes a tailored dark navy-blue suit, as described in the report. The announcement drew congratulations across the Olympic world: Allyson Felix and Lindsey Vonn each commented "Congrats!", Mikaela Shiffrin wrote "Yessss! Congrats.", Dutch star Femke Bol added her congratulations, and Alexis Ohanian wrote, "Congrats y'all!!"
Austin runs through the couple's story. They began dating in the autumn of 2022 after connecting on Instagram, and McManes became a familiar face at the 2024 Paris Olympics in a "Team Gabby" shirt as Thomas won three gold medals — the 200 meters in 21.83 seconds and both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays. In March 2025, McManes proposed with a surprise rooftop setting in Austin.
The wedding capped an Austin celebration weekend. Days before the ceremony, Thomas brought her friends together in the city for a Western-themed bachelorette weekend she called "Gabby's Last Rodeo," with a "Golden Hour" dinner, nights out at Devil May Care and Mayfair — where singer Leon Thomas surprised her by inviting her on stage — and a boat day in cowboy hats, as she described in a Cosmopolitan interview published October 23.
