Austin Wednesday Night: Teddy Swims at Moody Center, David Arquette's 'Behind the Scream' at Bass Hall, and Improv Jane Austen Would Not Recognize
Two 7 p.m. headliners anchor Austin's Wednesday: Teddy Swims brings his soul revue to Moody Center, while Bass Concert Hall marks 30 years of 'Scream' with a screening, a conversation and a Q&A with David Arquette.

Austin's Wednesday night is headlined twice over, and both shows start at 7 p.m. Teddy Swims performs at Moody Center, 2001 Robert Dedman Drive, in support of his 2025 album "I've Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 2)," according to the Austinot's weekly listings, with tickets starting at $40. Swims built his following on a soulful voice that moves between pop, R&B and rock, through original music and widely watched cover performances, the listing says.
Across the University of Texas campus at Bass Concert Hall, 2350 Robert Dedman Drive, "Behind the Scream" celebrates 30 years of the horror film 'Scream' with David Arquette, who played Dewey Riley in the franchise. The evening begins with an anniversary screening, followed by a moderated conversation and a live audience Q&A, the listing says, with a limited number of VIP tickets offering premium seating and a post-show photo opportunity. Tickets start at $35.
The night's smaller rooms are busy too. 'Jane Austin Improv' at Found Sound ATX, 305 Victor Street, takes a single audience suggestion and builds an entire Regency-style play on the spot — period costumes, romantic complications and all — at 7:30 p.m., the first of four nightly performances through October 31, with tickets from $21.40, according to the listing. Earlier in the evening, Double or Nothing Two-Step runs beginner and intermediate lessons at Sagebrush, 5500 South Congress Avenue, from 6 to 8 p.m. for $10, with live country music following.
One caution travels with the listings: the Austinot's editor's note says event details are subject to change and advises verifying information before heading out — sound advice on a night when the two biggest rooms in town start at the same hour.
