Austin Sunday Night Weather: 78.8 and Overcast, Election Day's High Slips to 79.1, and Saturday Turns Stormy at Code 96
Sunday closes grey and mild. The Election Day rain signal is unchanged at 75 percent - but the back of the week changed tonight: Thursday cleared, and Saturday picked up a thunderstorm code for the first time.

Austin's Sunday wound down under the same grey ceiling it carried all afternoon. The station's live weather feed, read Sunday night, November 1, showed 78.8 degrees under overcast skies (code 3), feeling like 81.9 - down from 83.5 at the evening update, with the day's high confirmed at 85, the low at 61.8 and a 1 percent precipitation chance. Monday stays overcast (code 3) at 81.7 with a low of 66.3 and a 3 percent rain chance.
Tuesday is still the week's weather story. Election Day remains coded as rain (code 65) with a 75 percent precipitation probability; the only change in this update is the high, nudged up to 79.1 from 78.3, with the low at 65.2. Travis County's 201 Election Day vote centers are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line at 7 p.m. still votes - the rain plan from this desk is unchanged. Wednesday follows overcast and dry at 78.3 with a 0 percent rain chance.
The back of the week moved in both directions tonight. Thursday cleared to code 1 - mainly clear - at 82.4 with a 3 percent rain chance, and Friday went back to overcast at 81 with a 5 percent chance. Saturday is the new entry: for the first time this weekend the feed codes Saturday as 96, a thunderstorm code, at 82.4 degrees with a 15 percent precipitation probability - a low number, but the first storm signal on the board for next weekend, and the Weather Desk will track whether it builds.
