Austin Late-Evening Weather: Thursday's Fog Gives Way to Drizzle at 32 Percent, Friday's Showers Hold at 44 Percent and Sunday Cools to 83 (AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS)

Austin's Wednesday is ending warm and grey on the station's live weather feed: 76.5 degrees, feeling like 81.3, under overcast skies. Wednesday's high is put at 81.7 with a low of 65.1 and only a 3 percent chance of rain — the dry end of the day the earlier files promised.

Thursday has changed character since the early-evening file. The feed no longer codes Thursday for fog; it now calls for drizzle, with a high near 82, a low near 67 and a rain chance of 32 percent, down from 36 percent at 6 p.m. Friday remains the week's wet day and its code has firmed up to rain showers, with a high of only 72.2, a low near 65 and a rain chance of 44 percent.

Halloween weekend still dries out behind Friday's showers. Saturday is coded for drizzle with a high near 77, a low near 65 and a 23 percent rain chance, and Sunday is overcast and dry — but cooler than earlier files had it, with the high trimmed to 83 from near 86 and a rain chance of just 3 percent, in time for the end of daylight saving time.

Next week opens warm and unsettled in a new pattern. Monday is now coded for rain showers rather than a thunderstorm, with a high near 88 and a 21 percent rain chance, while Tuesday — Election Day — keeps the thunderstorm code, cooling to near 76 with a 39 percent rain chance. The Weather Desk will watch Friday's shower timing next.
