Austin Friday Weather: The Rain Chance Rises Back to 45 Percent for the Last Day of Early Voting, and Halloween Cools to 74.4 Degrees
The feed moved again overnight: Friday got wetter, Saturday got cooler, Monday lost its drizzle, and Election Day's thunderstorms stayed exactly where they were.

Austin sat at 66.4 degrees and overcast in the small hours of Friday, feeling like 70, and the day that closes early voting now looks wetter than it did at midnight. Friday's rain chance rose from 38 percent to 45 percent on the latest station feed, still carrying the rain code (61), with a high of 69.7 degrees and a low of 64.1 — a cool, unsettled final day for voters heading to the polls, seven of which stay open until 10 p.m.
Halloween kept changing its mind, this time toward cool. Saturday's high fell from 77.2 to 74.4 degrees, and its rain chance ticked back up from 19 percent to 26 percent, still coded simply overcast — a cooler evening for trick-or-treating with a small chance attached rather than none. Sunday stayed the warm, dry break in the pattern: overcast, 84.0 degrees, a low of 67.7 and a 2 percent chance.
Monday's code changed without its numbers moving much: the drizzle designation (55) is gone, replaced by plain overcast (3), at the same 87.6-degree high and a 31 percent precipitation chance, with the low up slightly to 69.9. Election Day did not move at all in the ways that matter — Tuesday still carries thunderstorms (code 95) at a 43 percent chance, with the high eased to 77.3 and the warm low at 68.3 for the day Travis County opens 201 polling places.
Behind the election, the feed clears and warms: Wednesday is clear at 77.3 degrees with a 2 percent chance, and Thursday is overcast at 79.8 with a 6 percent chance. All figures are single-feed reads from the station's live Open-Meteo feed and will be re-read for the 05:00 file.
