Central Texas Week 10 Thursday Finals: LBJ Pours In 78 Points, Bowie Beats Akins 55-7, Anderson Blanks Cedar Creek 63-0
Five Austin-area finals are in from Thursday night, and all five were routs: LBJ's 78-19 win over Northeast was the biggest score of the night, and Anderson's 63-0 shutout was its most one-sided.

Week 10 of the Central Texas high school football season opened Thursday night with five Austin-area finals, and not one of them was close. FOX 7 Austin's Week 10 scoreboard lists LBJ 78, Northeast 19; Bowie 55, Akins 7; Anderson 63, Cedar Creek 0; Johnson 42, Austin High 6; and Killeen Shoemaker 38, Connally 14.
LBJ supplied the night's headline number. The Jaguars' 78 points against Northeast are the highest single-game total on the Central Texas board this week, a 59-point margin in a district game played a night before most of the area's teams take the field for the Friday roundup.
Anderson's win was the night's shutout: 63-0 over Cedar Creek, a wire-to-wire result that kept Cedar Creek off the scoreboard entirely. Bowie's 55-7 win over Akins and Johnson's 42-6 win over Austin High completed a sweep of lopsided Austin ISD results, and Shoemaker's 38-14 win at Connally was the closest game of the five — still a 24-point margin.
Thursday's five finals are the front edge of Week 10, not the whole of it: the bulk of the Central Texas schedule plays Friday night, and this station's Friday roundup will carry those scores when they are final. What Thursday settled is the tone — in the last full week of the regular season, the area's Thursday teams did not leave their games in doubt.
