Austin Friday Weather: The High Drops to 69.6 Degrees and the Rain Chance Falls to 38 Percent for the Last Day of Early Voting
The overnight feed cooled Friday down and took some of the water out of it, Halloween's rain chance fell to 19 percent, and Election Day's thunderstorms held at 43 percent.

Austin sat at 68 degrees and overcast in the first hour of Friday, feeling like 71.5, and the day ahead looks different from the one the late feed promised on Thursday night. Friday's high dropped to 69.6 degrees with a low of 64.7, and its rain chance fell from 61 percent to 38 percent - still carrying the rain code (61), so voters on the last day of early voting should still expect a wet, cool day, just a less certain one.
Halloween kept getting drier. Saturday is overcast with a high of 77.2 and a low of 63.6, and its rain chance fell again, from 38 percent to 19 percent - a mostly dry evening for trick-or-treating. Sunday stays warm and dry behind it: overcast, 85.1 degrees, a low of 68.4 and a 2 percent chance. Monday keeps its drizzle code at 87.6 degrees with a 31 percent chance.
Election Day did not move. Tuesday still carries thunderstorms (code 95) with a high of 77.9, a warm low of 68.0 and a 43 percent rain chance - the storm risk lands on the day Travis County opens 201 polling places. Behind it, the feed clears out: Wednesday is clear at 75.9 degrees with a 2 percent chance, and Thursday is clear at 80.4 with a 6 percent chance.
The practical read for Friday: the seven early-voting sites that stay open until 10 p.m. will do their last night in cool rain gear weather, not the week's wettest day the Thursday-night feed advertised. The Weather Desk's 05:00 file will carry the morning's confirmed numbers.
