US 183 Night Work: Express Lane Closed Nightly Between MoPac and Lakeline, and Frontage Lanes Join Monday Night
The 183 North Mobility Project closes the northbound express lane in full every night through November 6 — and starting Monday night the frontage roads between Lakeline Boulevard and MoPac lose lanes overnight too.

Northwest Austin's overnight drive on US 183 gets tighter starting Monday night. The 183 North Mobility Project's travel alerts, read by this desk Monday morning, list a nightly full closure of the northbound US 183 Express Lane from MoPac to Lakeline Boulevard, running from October 24 through November 6, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Southbound drivers are in the same work zone. The southbound US 183 Express Lane from Lakeline Boulevard to MoPac is also under a nightly closure over the same October 24 to November 6 stretch, in the same 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. window.
What changes on Monday, October 26, is the frontage roads. The project adds nightly single-lane closures — described as a 'single various lane closure' — on both the southbound and northbound US 183 frontage roads between Lakeline Boulevard and MoPac, also 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., continuing through November 6.
Because every closure on the list is overnight and ends at 6 a.m., the Monday morning rush itself is scheduled to run on open lanes — the pinch is for late-evening and pre-dawn drivers on the corridor. The project posts its alerts on its Travel Alerts page and offers construction-alert sign-ups there; the Traffic Desk will re-check the list before the evening drive file.
