President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States will give $1 million to anyone who reports voter fraud that leads to an arrest and conviction, barely a week before the midterm elections. He announced the plan in an October 26 post on Truth Social before discussing it with reporters as he traveled to a campaign rally in Mississippi.

In the post, Trump wrote that anybody reporting voter fraud in past elections, or in the upcoming 2026 midterm election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those who created the fraud. Speaking to reporters, he described the payment as a million-dollar bonus or reward for anybody who reports voter fraud leading to an arrest and conviction.

Trump did not say whether he plans to use government funds or his personal resources to pay the rewards, and he did not specify a particular reporting mechanism for the new offer, according to USA TODAY and Reuters reporting read this run. The announcement follows a program rolled out last week offering payments to tipsters who help uncover fraud in government programs, with whistleblowers receiving a 1 percent commission on money recovered.

For Travis County voters, the offer lands in a final week in which local officials are separately preparing legal and law-enforcement plans for the election and urging residents to take election information from local officials. Early voting runs through Friday, October 30, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
