No. 6 Texas Women Beat Defending Champion UCLA 81-64 in a Cedar Park Exhibition, With Madison Booker Scoring 21
Texas outscored UCLA in all four quarters at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park on Sunday - a preseason rematch of the Final Four game the Bruins won 51-44 last season.

Texas women's basketball got its rematch, even if this one does not count in the standings. The No. 6 Longhorns beat defending national champion UCLA 81-64 in an exhibition on Sunday at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, outscoring the Bruins in all four quarters and opening the third quarter with a 10-point run on the way to a lead that reached 22 points in the fourth.
Madison Booker led all scorers with 21 points, adding seven rebounds and six assists, and shot 7-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from three-point range. Bryanna Preston added 20 points, hitting four of her five three-pointers, Breya Cunningham finished with 16 points and six rebounds, and Zya Vann scored 12. Texas shot 50.8 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from three, forced 18 turnovers and turned them into 20 points.
The opponent is what made an exhibition feel bigger. UCLA beat Texas 51-44 in last season's Final Four, a game in which Booker shot 3-of-23 and scored six points. After Sunday's win, Booker called it a confidence booster for the team, according to The Daily Texan's reporting.
Texas closes its exhibition schedule at home: the Longhorns host Eastern New Mexico in their final exhibition on Thursday, October 29, at 7 p.m. Central at the Moody Center in Austin.
