Talarico's Lubbock Rally Moves to a Bigger Venue for Tuesday Night, on a Day That Also Brings a Trump Rally to the City
James Talarico's Lubbock community rally moves from the Frazier Alumni Pavilion to the Fiesta Center after heavy RSVPs — hours after a rescheduled Trump rally in the same city, in a Senate race the latest Fox News poll shows tied at 49 percent.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico's community rally in Lubbock has changed locations a day before the event, moving to a larger venue for Tuesday night, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. The rally will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, with doors opening at 6 p.m., at the Fiesta Center, 1902 E. Fourth St.
The event was originally set for the Frazier Alumni Pavilion, 2680 Drive of Champions. Transportation from the former location to the Fiesta Center will begin at 5 p.m., and no tickets are required. "James is honored by the excitement the people of Lubbock have shown towards his campaign," campaign spokesman JT Ennis said by email, as reported by the Avalanche-Journal. "Due to high interest and RSVPs, our campaign needed to change venues to accommodate as many attendees as possible."
Lubbock hosts a second rally the same day. A rally featuring President Donald Trump, initially scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, has been delayed, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and Trump speaking at 6 p.m. A flyer from the Lubbock County Democratic Party promotes a protest outside the Civic Center from 2 to 6 p.m. on October 27.
The Lubbock stops land in the final week of a Senate race between Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton that the Avalanche-Journal's poll roundup describes as narrowing: a Fox News poll released October 21 showed the two tied at 49 percent each among likely Texas voters. Early voting in Texas ends Friday, October 30, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
