Sabres vs. Kings: Buffalo Wins 3-2 on Tage Thompson's Two Goals to Finish a California Sweep
Buffalo led 2-0, gave it back, and won it on the power play anyway. Thompson's second goal, at 13:40 of the third, sent the Sabres home with seven of eight points on the trip and their first three-game winning streak of the season.

Tage Thompson scored twice, including the go-ahead goal in the third period, to help the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win against the host Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, Reuters reported.
Jack Quinn had a goal and an assist, and Zach Benson and Rasmus Dahlin each had two assists for the Sabres, who have won three in a row; Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 27 saves. Quinn gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead on the power play at 6:35 of the first period, and Thompson made it 2-0 at 15:38 of the second — his 222nd goal with Buffalo, tying him with Rene Robert for ninth in franchise history. Corey Perry and Andre Lee scored for the Kings, and Anton Forsberg made 28 saves. Perry cut the deficit to 2-1 late in the second, on a deflection initially waved off for goaltender interference and overturned after a successful Kings challenge, and Lee tied it 2-2 just 1:29 into the third.
Thompson put Buffalo in front for good on the power play at 13:40 of the third, one-timing a pass from Quinn past Forsberg. The win wrapped up a sweep of California — Buffalo's first three-game winning streak of the season — and the Sabres (7-4-3) head home after collecting seven of eight possible points on the road trip, NHL.com reported; Buffalo scored twice on the man advantage Saturday and is 4-for-6 on the power play over its last two games. Los Angeles played without top-line winger Adrian Kempe for the first time this season; Kempe, who has three goals and five assists, is day to day with an undisclosed injury.
