Lakers vs. Heat on Monday Night: Luka Doncic, One Night After 45 Against Toronto, Gets Giannis Antetokounmpo and a Rested Miami Team
Los Angeles plays its second game in two nights. Miami arrives off two days of rest, on the first stop of a five-game trip, with a plan built entirely around one man.

The Los Angeles Lakers (5-2) host the Miami Heat (2-4) on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena, with tip set for 7 p.m. Pacific on Spectrum SportsNet, Silver Screen and Roll reported. The matchup is a study in scheduling: the Lakers play the second night of a back-to-back, while Miami arrives with two consecutive nights off and opens a five-game road trip.
The reason for Miami's rest is also the reason for its confidence. The Heat have won two straight after opening the season with four consecutive losses, and their two stars are producing: Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.2 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists, and Bam Adebayo is coming off a 27-point game in the win over Indiana, the preview reported. Los Angeles counters with the league's hottest scorer. Luka Doncic scored 45 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Toronto on Sunday night, with Austin Reaves adding 19, Reuters reported.
Miami's plan for Doncic is not a secret. Adebayo said before the trip that the Heat would try to make Doncic see double and make difficult shots rather than leave the job to one defender, Sports Mole reported. The Lakers have won the last three meetings between the teams. On the injury front, the Heat list Tim Hardaway Jr. as questionable for personal reasons, and Lakers forward Ziaire Williams remains uncertain after a pre-Sunday update on his foot, Silver Screen and Roll reported.
