Jayson Tatum Hits an Overtime Buzzer-Beater as the Celtics Beat the Nets 125-124 for Their Third Straight Win (AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS)

Jayson Tatum ended a wild Tuesday night in Boston with one shot. His elbow jumper as time expired in overtime gave the Celtics a 125-124 victory over the visiting Brooklyn Nets, Boston's third win in a row, Field Level Media reported.

Tatum scored a game-high 40 points and hit a career-high 18 free throws on 22 attempts. Paul George added 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for Boston.

Brooklyn, which fell to 0-4, nearly stole it at the end of regulation. The Nets trailed 117-114 late in the fourth quarter, but Mikel Brown Jr. made a 3-pointer with one second left to send the game to overtime. Michael Porter Jr. led Brooklyn with 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Julius Randle finished with 24 points and nine rebounds.

In overtime, the game came down to the final possession — and to Tatum, whose jumper at the horn closed the night. The win keeps Boston's early-season run intact heading into the heart of the fall schedule.
