Tuesday Night in Austin: Chappelle at the Moody Center, Rahman at Bass Hall, and Pumpkin Nights at Pioneer Farms
Halloween week gives Austin a full Tuesday night: stand-up and a symphonic concert at 7:30 p.m., late hours at the Wildflower Center, and more than 10,000 carved pumpkins lighting a half-mile trail.

Tuesday night is not a quiet night in Austin this week. Dave Chappelle brings his Karmageddon tour to the Moody Center for the second of two nights, at 7:30 p.m., with tickets starting at $82 in the AustinOT listings read by this desk. Across campus, A.R. Rahman — the Grammy and two-time Academy Award winner known internationally for Slumdog Millionaire — brings The Symphonic Experience to Bass Concert Hall, also at 7:30 p.m.
For a quieter evening, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center stays open late for Tuesday Twilights, from 5 to 8 p.m., with live music from local artists among the gardens. Admission in the listing is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $9 for children ages 3 to 17, with children 2 and under free. The Tuesday series runs through November 10.
Halloween itself arrives early at Pioneer Farms, where Pumpkin Nights opens its Tuesday run from 6 to 11 p.m. The event builds a half-mile path through nine pumpkin lands — from a Forbidden City to an underwater Neon Reef — out of more than 10,000 hand-carved and custom-designed pumpkins, and ends in Pumpkin Village with food, a live fire show and games. Tickets start at $12 in the listing, and the run continues through Saturday, October 31.
Families looking for a milder scare can head to Leander, where Volente Beach Waterpark's Haunted Shores walk-through runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, starting at $10. Event details can change, so check the venue's current listing before heading out — and for voters, every one of these is an after-polls plan: early voting sites in Travis County are open until 7 p.m.
