Austin FC II's Playoff Run Ends in Stoppage Time: LAFC 2 Wins the Semifinal 1-0 (AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS)

Austin FC II's MLS NEXT Pro playoff run ended in the cruelest window of a soccer match. Sebastian Nava scored in the second minute of stoppage time on Sunday, October 25, giving LAFC 2 a 1-0 win at Austin FC II in the Western Conference semifinals, according to Soccer America's report of the round.

Austin FC II entered the semifinal as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. The club had advanced a week earlier with a 2-1 opening-round win over San Jose Earthquakes II on October 18, on goals by Ibrahima Sall in the 58th minute and Patrick Gryczewski in the 88th, after Bohane had put San Jose ahead in the 24th.

Sunday's result was part of a rough day for top seeds across the league. In the Eastern Conference, No. 1 seed Crown Legacy FC also lost, falling 2-1 to Columbus Crew 2, and in the other Western semifinal, No. 2 seed Portland Timbers2 lost 1-0 to Ventura County.

For Austin, the 1-0 defeat closes the second team's season one win short of the conference final. The first team, meanwhile, kept its own MLS playoff hopes alive on Saturday with a 2-1 regular-season win at Sporting Kansas City.
