Abbott Raised $26 Million in the Final Report Before Election Day, and Hinojosa Raised $17.5 Million
Monday's filings were the final campaign finance reports due before Election Day in the Texas governor's race, aside from daily disclosures in the final week, with Abbott outspending Hinojosa nearly eight to one over the cycle, according to the filings as reported this cycle.

Gov. Greg Abbott raised $26 million between Sept. 25 and Oct. 24, his highest single reporting period this cycle, according to a ContextCorner report read in full this cycle and sourced to The Texas Tribune and campaign finance filings. The report said the haul was more than triple the $8.8 million he raised over the same stretch of his 2022 campaign, and that Abbott campaign manager Dave Carney told reporters the numbers reflect how seriously the team is taking the race.
Nearly one-fifth of Abbott's latest haul came from Elon Musk, according to the report, which listed $5 million from Musk - a figure the Hinojosa campaign also stated in its own statement this cycle - alongside $3 million from the Republican Governors Association, $2.5 million from Nike co-founder Phil Knight and $2 million from investment manager Kenneth Fisher. Abbott spent $35.8 million in the same four-week span, and since Hinojosa launched her campaign on Oct. 15, 2025, he has outspent her nearly eight to one, $281 million to her $36.8 million, per the filings as reported.
Democrat Gina Hinojosa raised $17.5 million and spent $19.1 million over the reporting period, both her highest totals this cycle, according to the report, with $1 million each from Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and the Democratic Governors Association among her top donors. Hinojosa said at a rally last week, as quoted in the report: "We built this campaign on the idea that Texas was ready for something different, and the country is starting to believe it too."
