World Series Schedule: Rays Beat the Brewers 4-3 in 12 Innings in Game 4, and Game 5 Is Wednesday Night in Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay, down to its final three outs in the 12th inning, rallied past Milwaukee 4-3 on Tuesday night to stay alive. The Brewers still lead the series 3-1, and Game 5 is Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern at Tropicana Field.

The World Series is headed to a Game 5. The Tampa Bay Rays staved off elimination with a 4-3 victory in 12 innings over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, extending the series and denying Milwaukee its first championship for one more day, according to USA TODAY's live coverage of the game, read in full this cycle. Milwaukee remains in control of the series, leading three games to one.
The ending was as tight as the series has been. Rookie Cooper Pratt, who had four hits on the night, hit a solo home run in the top of the 12th to break a 2-2 tie and put Milwaukee three outs from the title. In the bottom of the inning, Junior Caminero reached on a throwing error by Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz, Liam Hicks singled him to third — Caminero, already limping, came out for pinch-runner Cedric Mullins — and Jonny DeLuca singled in the tying run. Chandler Simpson then singled to load the bases, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson bounced a single over first baseman Jake Bauers to score pinch-runner Nick Fortes with the winning run. Ortiz took the error on himself afterward, telling reporters there was no excuse and that he should make that play every time.
The series so far, per the Sportradar results listing read this cycle: Milwaukee won Game 1 at home, 3-2, and Game 2, 5-4, then routed Tampa Bay 10-1 in Game 3 at Tropicana Field before Tuesday's 4-3, 12-inning Rays win in Game 4. Two questions now hang over Game 5: Caminero's leg — Rays manager Kevin Cash said after the game that Caminero would play, in Cash's words, with one leg if needed — and Milwaukee's starter, with manager Pat Murphy confirming that ace Jacob Misiorowski will get the ball for the Brewers' second chance to clinch.
The rest of the schedule, per NBC Sports' published World Series schedule read this cycle: Game 5 is Wednesday, October 28, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, on FOX. If Tampa Bay wins again, the series returns to Milwaukee for Game 6 on Friday, October 30, and a Game 7, if necessary, on Saturday, October 31. A Milwaukee win in any of them ends the series and gives the Brewers the first World Series championship in franchise history; the Rays, champions never themselves, need three straight wins.
