ThisWay Global, the Austin company building sovereign AI and high-performance computing infrastructure, said Radu Alexander will oversee its sovereign cloud strategy and operations for governments and highly regulated industries.

An Austin technology company has added a cloud-infrastructure veteran to its leadership. ThisWay Global announced Wednesday that Radu Alexander has been appointed Vice President of Cloud Operations, where he will lead the company's sovereign cloud platforms.
In the role, Alexander will oversee the company's sovereign cloud infrastructure strategy and operations, with a focus on platforms that meet the security and regulatory requirements of governments and highly regulated industries, according to the company's announcement. ThisWay Global describes its focus as sovereign artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.
"With the launch of the Sovereign Blueprint and our announcement with Texas A&M, we are at a pivotal moment to scale our approach quickly across institutions," Chief Executive Officer Stephan Fabel said in the announcement, adding that Alexander brings experience building and operating cloud platforms at scale from both the infrastructure and customer perspective.
Alexander brings more than 25 years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure across private and public cloud environments, according to the company. At AWS he led Solutions Architecture for the Digital Native Business segment, and as Vice President of Cloud Solutions Delivery at Mirantis he led a global organization that delivered and operated more than 100 private cloud platforms for Fortune 500 enterprises and telecommunications providers, including PayPal, AT&T and Symantec.
