Texas Volleyball Sweeps Georgia 3-0 at Gregory Gym: 25-21, 25-15, 25-13, With Stafford's 15 Kills Leading the Night
No. 14 Texas needed three sets and no more at Gregory Gymnasium on Wednesday night, sweeping Georgia 25-21, 25-15, 25-13 - the Longhorns' second straight sweep, four days before Texas A&M walks into the same building.

The midweek match at Gregory Gymnasium was the only one on the SEC's conference slate, and Texas treated it like a statement. The No. 14 Longhorns swept Georgia 3-0 on Wednesday night - 25-21, 25-15, 25-13 - improving to 10-7 overall and 6-3 in the SEC, in their second straight sweep after the South Carolina match.
The first set was the contest. Texas ran out to a 9-3 lead, Georgia clawed back to 16-15 behind Bianna Muoneke and Kendal Kemp - five kills each in the set, Kemp hitting .571 - and the Longhorns still closed it, 25-21. After Georgia tied the second set at 4-4, Texas pulled away for good: an Addy Gaido kill brought set point and a Georgia attack error finished it, 25-15. The third set was the shortest of the night, 25-13.
Torrey Stafford led all players with 15 kills for Texas. Georgia's line ran through Kemp, who finished with 10 kills and three blocks, Muoneke with eight kills and six digs, and freshman Gigi Artiles with seven kills - production that bought the Bulldogs one close set and no more. The loss was Georgia's third straight, dropping it to 14-6 overall and 6-4 in SEC play, in eighth place in the league with five matches left before the SEC Tournament in Savannah, November 20-24.
Texas's week does not slow down. The Longhorns stay home at Gregory Gym for the rivalry match: Texas A&M on Sunday, November 1, at noon Central on ESPN - the match the building has been pointing at since the schedule came out, now with a two-sweep run behind the home team.
