No. 11 Texas Hosts Mississippi State on Halloween Night, With Kickoff Set for 6:30 p.m.
The Longhorns' third straight home game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on ABC or ESPN - and Mississippi State arrives on a three-game losing streak with a quarterback question.

Texas football is back under the lights on Halloween. The No. 11 Longhorns host the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, October 31, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC or ESPN.
Texas comes in 5-2 and rising. The Longhorns beat Ole Miss 34-27 in Austin on Saturday to climb to No. 11 in the AP poll, shaking off back-to-back 27-24 losses to Oklahoma and Florida earlier this month. Saturday's game is the third straight at home for Steve Sarkisian's team.
Mississippi State arrives in a different place. The Bulldogs are 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC, and they lost their third straight game on Saturday, falling 23-15 at home to Oklahoma in Starkville.
The Bulldogs' biggest question is at quarterback. Kamario Taylor started against Oklahoma, exited in the first quarter with an injury and did not return, with backup Billy Puckett finishing the game. Head coach Jeff Lebby said after the game that Taylor 'felt it a little bit, so it felt like the right thing to do was get him out of the game,' and that the team would know more on Monday - which makes Monday's word out of Starkville the first thing to watch in this matchup.
For Texas, a win Saturday keeps the November stretch - at Missouri, at LSU, home against Arkansas and at Texas A&M - opening from strength. The Sports Desk will file its next update as Mississippi State's quarterback picture clears.
