Texas vs. Mississippi State Game Day Guide: Kickoff at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN, a Sold-Out Halloween Night at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium
It is the Longhorns' last home Saturday before the road takes over: 5-2 Texas hosts 4-3 Mississippi State under the lights on Halloween, and Texas athletics lists the game as sold out.

Texas gets one more Saturday at home before the calendar turns. Mississippi State visits Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Halloween night, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. Central on ESPN; fans can stream the game through the ESPN app with eligible access, SEC Country's game-day guide noted. It is the Longhorns' third straight home game - after Florida and Ole Miss - and their last in Austin before road trips to Missouri and LSU.
The form lines point in opposite directions. Texas enters 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play after the 34-27 win over Ole Miss on October 24, a game in which the Longhorns built a 21-point halftime lead, weathered the comeback and made the late plays; Arch Manning contributed through the air and on the ground and Raleek Brown delivered a major performance in the running game. Mississippi State arrives 4-3 and 2-3 in the SEC, losers of three straight, including a 23-15 home defeat to Oklahoma last weekend. Texas has won both meetings since joining the SEC, including last season's game in Starkville.
Practically: Texas athletics lists the game as sold out, so anyone still looking for seats should use official ticket channels or verified resale, confirm transfers before arriving, and give the campus plenty of time - Austin traffic slows hard around major events near the university, and the guide advises planning a meeting point for children and having mobile tickets ready at the gates.
The weather deserves a jacket either way. The guide's early forecast called for a warm, mostly cloudy Saturday reaching the upper 70s to around 80, milder by kickoff, with a chance of showers or thunderstorms. This station's own live feed, read Friday afternoon, has cooled that picture: Saturday now carries a rain code (61) at a 33 percent chance, with a high of 73.2 and a low of 64.8. A lightweight rain jacket covers both versions - and on Halloween night in a sold-out stadium, it is the cheapest insurance in Austin.
