Spurs Beat the Jazz 117-111 in Overtime: Wembanyama's 36 Points Carry San Antonio in Salt Lake City
The San Antonio Spurs needed five extra minutes in Salt Lake City. Victor Wembanyama posted 36 points and 14 rebounds, Devin Vassell added 21, and San Antonio outscored the short-handed Utah Jazz 12-6 in overtime for a 117-111 win — the Spurs' third straight.

San Antonio's Texas nightcap went the distance and then some. The Spurs beat the Utah Jazz 117-111 in overtime at the Delta Center on Wednesday night, outscoring Utah 12-6 in the extra period after regulation ended tied at 105.
Victor Wembanyama carried the night: 36 points and 14 rebounds, including 12 points in the second quarter as San Antonio cut an 11-point deficit to 55-51 by halftime. Devin Vassell scored 21, with the bulk of them after halftime, and the Spurs' defense decided overtime — four forced turnovers and Utah held to 2-for-7 shooting in the extra period, according to the Associated Press.
Utah nearly stole it short-handed. Keyonte George scored a season-high 31 and leveled the game at 105 on a left-handed drive with 41.4 seconds left in regulation; after traded misses, Brice Sensabaugh (16 points) opened overtime with a three — and San Antonio then scored 12 straight points to take control. Ace Bailey added 19 and rookie Darryn Peterson 18 for the Jazz.
The Jazz (1-4) played without three big men: Jaren Jackson Jr., out with a torn MCL; Lauri Markkanen, with a right wrist sprain; and Jusuf Nurkic, who has yet to play this season with a foot injury. San Antonio (3-2) has won three straight and hosts Minnesota on Saturday.
