South Carolina Beats Oklahoma 42-25 in Norman: LaNorris Sellers Accounts for Five Touchdowns (AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS)

The loudest road performance of the SEC's Week 9 came in Norman. South Carolina beat Oklahoma 42-25 on Saturday behind quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who accounted for five touchdowns — three passing on 19-of-24 for 301 yards, and two rushing as part of a 96-yard day on the ground, the game accounts read by the desk reported.

For one play, Oklahoma had its moment: Kip Lewis returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter to tie the game 7-7. South Carolina answered with three straight touchdown drives and a 28-10 halftime lead, and the second half never tightened. The Gamecocks outgained Oklahoma 521 yards to 359, and when Sellers found Mazeo Bennett Jr. for a 79-yard touchdown with 13:13 left in the fourth quarter, the margin was 42-16 and home fans were heading for the exits, News9 reported.

Oklahoma scored twice late to dress the final up at 42-25, but the Sooners fall to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the SEC, with frustration in Norman audible throughout the afternoon. South Carolina, meanwhile, has won three straight after a three-game losing streak and improves to 5-3 and 3-3 in conference play.

The result completes the Texas-relevant picture of Week 9 in the SEC: on the same Saturday, Texas beat Mississippi State 31-3 in Austin to reach 6-2, Georgia beat Florida 27-8, Ole Miss routed Auburn 45-15 and Missouri won at Arkansas 34-10, according to USA TODAY's updated conference standings file. Texas travels to Missouri on November 7.
