Selma Blair Breaks Her Silence on Her Mid-Flight Arrest: 'I Take This Very Seriously'
In an Instagram video Friday, Blair apologized to anyone she 'disappointed, hurt, frightened or alarmed,' said her lawyers have asked her not to discuss the flight itself, and said she will focus on her health and her son.

Selma Blair has spoken publicly for the first time since her arrest earlier this month over an alleged mid-flight incident. In an Instagram video posted Friday, the actress broke a silence she said had lasted since October 11, telling followers, 'You deserve to hear from me directly, and I'm sorry it's taken this long,' Page Six reported.
She did not describe the flight. 'There is a legal matter going on and my lawyers have asked me to not say anything about that day, and I'm listening to them,' she said. 'I take this very seriously.' Fox News has reported that Blair was arrested for assault for allegedly attempting to open a door midflight; the allegation has not been adjudicated, and Blair's video did not address its specifics. What she offered instead was a statement about intent: 'Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life.'
The rest of the video was apology and thanks. Blair said she was sorry to the people she has 'disappointed,' 'hurt,' 'frightened' and 'alarmed,' and she thanked those who had written, called or sent wishes of love or caring, saying the support 'has meant everything to me and my son, who is my world - as is Scout, who is also OK.'
Blair, known to Austin audiences from 'Legally Blonde' and 'Cruel Intentions,' said she will now focus on 'taking care of [her] health and [her] son' and on the people who support her, 'all with gratitude and love.' Page Six described the story as developing; no court date or statement from any airline was reported in the coverage read this cycle, and the desk will follow the legal matter as it moves.
