Nets Beat the Pacers 98-90 for Their First Win: Michael Porter Jr. Scores 23 as Brooklyn Finally Closes One Out
Brooklyn opened the season 0-5. On Sunday in Indianapolis the Nets led the entire second half - and this time, when Indiana cut it to three in the fourth quarter, they had the answers.

Michael Porter Jr. scored 23 points and the Brooklyn Nets secured their first win of the season, beating the Indiana Pacers 98-90 on Sunday in Indianapolis, Reuters reported. Julius Randle added 20 points, Nolan Traore scored 16, Day'Ron Sharpe collected 15 points and 13 rebounds and Moritz Wagner chipped in 14 off the bench for the Nets, who opened the season 0-5.
Brooklyn took control after halftime and never gave it back. Holding a 43-40 edge at the break, the Nets opened the second half with nine straight points to push the lead to 52-40 and led 71-62 entering the fourth quarter, Reuters reported. Indiana's one real push came early in the fourth, when Andrew Nembhard scored seven points in a 10-4 run that cut the margin to 75-72 - the last time the Pacers were within a possession.
Randle's stepback 3-pointer with 4:44 left pushed the lead back to 10, and after Nembhard's fourth triple trimmed it to seven with 2:24 remaining, neither team made another field goal the rest of the way, Reuters reported. Nembhard paced Indiana with 23 points, followed by Pascal Siakam's 17 and Quenton Jackson's 12, as the Pacers dropped their fourth straight game.
