GTA 6: a Reported 210GB PS5 Install and a Higher Firmware Requirement Lead the Final Countdown to November 19
Seventeen days out, the biggest game of the year is also the biggest download of the year - if the store-backend reports are right. Rockstar has confirmed the date and the price, and nothing else.

Grand Theft Auto VI is the most searched topic in the United States this morning, and the newest reports explain why players are checking their hard drives. Multiple outlets reported in the last week of October that the game shows a download size of roughly 210GB on PlayStation 5, according to data tied to Sony's PlayStation backend tracked by the account PlayStation Game Size, Tech Insider reported. A 210GB install would claim about 31 percent of a launch-model PS5's roughly 667GB of usable storage.
The desk is carrying that number exactly as the sources carry it: reported, not confirmed. Rockstar Games has announced no install size for any platform, and no store listing carries one, Tech Insider reported. The same caution applies to the reported November 12 pre-load window and to a second report, from AltChar on Monday, that the game's minimum PS5 firmware requirement has reportedly been raised from system software 14.10 to 14.22 - a change that appears aimed at keeping the game off jailbroken consoles, though neither Rockstar nor Sony has confirmed that purpose.
What is confirmed is narrower, and it is enough. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, a date Rockstar restated in an October 15 launch trailer, with the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, Tech Insider's confirmed-versus-rumor scorecard reported. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version and no announced PC version. Players who want to be ready on the confirmed facts alone can do one thing this week: clear space, because even the cautious planning advice in the coverage - keep at least 200GB free - assumes a very large game is coming.
