Cowboys vs. Cardinals at Noon: Dallas Chases a Second Straight Win in a Shootout-Shaped Week 8 Game at AT&T Stadium (AUSTIN CAPITAL NEWS)

The Dallas Cowboys get the short week and the home field on Sunday, hosting the Arizona Cardinals at AT&T Stadium in Arlington with kickoff at noon Central (1 p.m. Eastern) on Fox. Dallas (3-4) comes in off Monday night's 38-21 win over Philadelphia, the season-high scoring night that kept the NFC East wide open; Arizona (2-5) comes in trying to get back into its own race. The Houston Texans, the state's other team, are on their bye this week.

The matchup profiles as points. Dallas averages 27.0 points a game, fifth in the league, behind Dak Prescott's 1,851 passing yards and 13-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio and CeeDee Lamb's 53 catches for 651 yards and six touchdowns, according to the DraftKings Network preview read this run. Javonte Williams has added 472 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, coming off his best game of the season on Monday. But the Cowboys allow 25.7 points a game (23rd) and 145.7 rushing yards a game, and two names carry questionable tags into Sunday: receiver George Pickens (shoulder), who has 37 catches for 485 yards, and defensive tackle Kenny Clark (back).

Arizona's problem is the mirror image. The Cardinals allow 29.7 points a game, last in the league, and score just 20.3 (26th) — though the preview notes their efficiency ranking is kinder than the scoring rank. Their boost is a return: first-round pick Jeremiyah Love, the No. 3 selection, is finally healthy after ankle injuries limited his first weeks, and tight end Trey McBride — 59 catches, 472 yards, four touchdowns — is quarterback Jacoby Brissett's top target. Oddsmakers expect a track meet anyway: Dallas was listed as a 7-point home favorite with a total of 54.5 points, tied for the highest on the Week 8 slate.
