Austin Halloween Overnight Weather: The High Eases to 75.5 for Game Day, the Clocks Fall Back Tonight, and Election Day Rain Holds at 58 Percent

The station's live feed trimmed Saturday's high overnight from 79 to 75.5 with drizzle at just 4 percent — a mild Halloween for the 6:30 p.m. kickoff and trick-or-treating, fog on Sunday morning, and Tuesday's rain signal unchanged.

Halloween day itself will run a little cooler than Friday night's forecast promised. The station's live weather feed, powered by Open-Meteo and read by this desk in the overnight hours, puts Austin at 65.8 degrees and overcast before dawn, and it has revised Saturday's high down to 75.5 — from the 79 in the station's early-morning file — with drizzle (code 55) at only a 4 percent rain chance and a low of 65.6.

That is still an easy Halloween. The Texas-Mississippi State kickoff at 6:30 p.m. at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium and the evening's trick-or-treating both sit in the low-to-mid 70s easing toward the mid-60s, with rain a remote possibility rather than a plan-changer. Costumes will not need the rain layer this year.

Tonight also brings the year's clock change: daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, when clocks turn back one hour — an extra hour of sleep after Halloween night, and a foggy start to Sunday (code 45) with a high near 83.1 and rain chances at 3 percent. Monday runs warm and mostly dry, near 87.8 with light rain possible at 11 percent.

Election Day remains the wet day of the week, unchanged overnight. Tuesday carries rain (code 53), a high near 77.6 and a rain chance of 58 percent for voters heading to the polls between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. — worth an early trip and an umbrella. Wednesday clears behind it, sunny near 75.7, and the rest of the week runs mild and mostly dry. The desk refreshes the Election Day picture with the morning files.
