Travis County's early voting window is down to its final three days. In-person early voting, which began October 19, runs through Friday, October 30, and the On Point Politics Texas tracker counts 298,977 ballots cast in the county so far — 285,241 in person and 13,736 by mail. The Secretary of State's files, which lag local reporting, show 297,298 Travis County votes, a 31.42 percent turnout, according to a turnout summary read this cycle.

The practical details for the closing days: polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with extended hours until 10 p.m. at some locations on Thursday and Friday, according to the county update. Travis County voters may cast a ballot at any open site in the county, and the county has opened 45 early voting locations.

Travis is part of a heavy statewide early vote. The same tracker counts 669,939 ballots in Harris County, 417,220 in Dallas County, 387,176 in Tarrant County and 347,470 in Bexar County. Those figures count ballots cast only — they show how many people have voted, not how any of them voted.

After Friday's close, the next chance to vote is Election Day itself, Tuesday, November 3. Voters who still hold a mail ballot should follow the county's return instructions rather than waiting for Election Day lines.
