Texas vs. Mississippi State: Colin Simmons Is Out, Coleman and Smothers Are Clear, and Kickoff Is 6:30 p.m. on ESPN
The final injury report is the last news before Halloween night at DKR: Texas loses its edge rusher, gets two offensive weapons back, and faces a Mississippi State team without Kamario Taylor for the rest of the season.

The last update before kickoff cuts both ways for Texas. EDGE Colin Simmons is ruled out for Saturday night's game against Mississippi State, Longhorns Wire reported on game day, while wide receiver Cam Coleman and running back Hollywood Smothers are both off the injury list after appearing on it earlier in the week and should be good to go.
Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. Central at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, on ESPN, with streaming on the ESPN app, Disney+ and Fubo. It is the third straight season the two have met since Texas joined the SEC, and a Halloween date Texas has historically owned - 15-3-1 all-time on October 31 and 8-2 in its last 10 Halloween games, though the Longhorns lost their last one, to Oklahoma State.
Mississippi State's news is worse and permanent. Quarterback Kamario Taylor - 1,460 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions when healthy - is out for the rest of the season, and the Bulldogs arrive 4-3 after starting 4-0 and losing three straight, to Alabama, to LSU by 31-0, and to Oklahoma 23-15, according to Action Network's preview. No. 11 Texas is 5-2, a 21-point favorite with a total of 50.5 in Action Network's lines.
For Texas, the shape of the night is clear: protect Arch Manning against a desperate defense, replace Simmons's pressure by committee, and avoid the slow third quarters that have followed this team in SEC play. The Sports Desk files the final tonight after the game.
