Spurs Bring a Three-Game Winning Streak Home Saturday Against an Edwards-Less Timberwolves Team
San Antonio's 117-111 overtime win at Utah - 36 points and 14 rebounds from Victor Wembanyama - sets up a Halloween home game against a Minnesota team missing its best player.

The San Antonio Spurs come home for Halloween on a roll. Wednesday's 117-111 overtime win at Utah was San Antonio's third straight victory and lifted the Spurs to 3-2 - and Saturday they host a Minnesota Timberwolves team that arrives without Anthony Edwards or Donte DiVincenzo and has lost two straight.
The Utah win was earned the hard way. San Antonio trailed by as many as 11 and went into halftime down 55-51, with Victor Wembanyama carrying the offense on his way to 21 first-half points. The third quarter ended level at 85, and regulation finished 105-105 after Utah's Keyonte George drove to tie it with 41.4 seconds left and De'Aaron Fox missed a jumper at the buzzer. Utah opened overtime with a Brice Sensabaugh three and an 8-0 run that put the Spurs down 108-105 - and San Antonio answered with 12 straight points to close it.
Wembanyama finished with 36 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks in 39 minutes - his first 30-point game of the season, on 14-for-25 shooting - including a dunk off a Devin Vassell feed with just over a minute left in overtime that stretched the lead to seven. Vassell scored 21, with 12 in the fourth quarter and overtime; Fox added 14. George led Utah with a season-high 31, Ace Bailey scored 19 and rookie Darryn Peterson 18 for a Jazz team playing without three of its big men.
Saturday's matchup tilts on availability. Edwards, whose knee surgery this station reported on Oct. 27 will keep him out about two months, headlines Minnesota's absences, and the Timberwolves' two-game slide has come without him. For the Spurs, the assignment is the cleaner version of Wednesday: defend home court without needing overtime, behind the form player in the conference through five games.
