Austin Weather Update: Friday's Rain Now Comes With a Cool-Down to 73, and Monday's Storms Top Out Near 88
The station's live feed has reshaped the late week since the morning outlook: Friday is a rain day nearly four degrees cooler than first called, Saturday brings showers, Sunday dries out near 87, and Monday's thunderstorms arrive with a high near 88 instead of 91.

Austin's late-week forecast has cooled since the early outlook. The station's live Open-Meteo feed read 65.1 degrees and overcast early Wednesday, with light rain (weather code 51) expected during the day and a high of 83.9 — but the bigger change is Friday, which the feed now calls a rain day (code 63) with a high of just 72.9 degrees, down from the 76.1 and light rain in the morning file.
Thursday stays the in-between day: fog (code 45) with a high of 79 and a low of 64, and a 19 percent precipitation chance, according to the feed. Saturday brings rain showers (code 80) and a high of 80.1, before Sunday dries out — overcast skies, a high of 86.7 and only a 7 percent precipitation chance, the driest and warmest day of the weekend on the current feed.
Monday remains the storm day, but a milder one than first advertised: thunderstorms (code 95) with a high of 88.3 and a low of 70.7, and the week's highest precipitation chance at 24 percent. Tuesday then cools behind the storms — partly cloudy, 76.9 for a high and 63.8 for a low, with a 28 percent precipitation chance on the feed's reading.
For Halloween-weekend planning, the feed's shape is now clear: wettest and coolest on Friday, improving through the weekend, and warm again Sunday before Monday's storms. The Weather Desk will update the file at the 17:00 outlook if the feed moves again.
