Austin Weather, Mid-Morning Monday: 75 Degrees and Mainly Clear on the Way to 83.5, but Election Day's Rain Chance Has Risen to 57 Percent
The morning is warm and mainly clear. Tuesday is not: the feed now calls for moderate rain, a high of 74.9 and a low of 58.7 - a wetter, cooler Election Day than the dawn forecast showed.

Austin's Monday is warming fast under mainly clear skies. The station's live feed at mid-morning reads 75.1 degrees with a feels-like temperature of 78.9, on the way to an afternoon high of 83.5 with an overnight low of 65.6 and a precipitation reading of just 2 percent. It is, by November standards, a warm and easy day - and it is not the day this forecast is really about.
Election Day's forecast has worsened since dawn. Where the early-morning files carried light drizzle, the live feed now shows Tuesday at code 63 - moderate rain - with a high of 74.9, a low of 58.7 and a precipitation reading of 57 percent. That is a genuinely wet voting day if it holds: polls in Travis County are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the practical advice is an umbrella, a few extra minutes, and voting outside the before-work and after-work peaks if the rain is falling steadily.
Behind Tuesday, the week cools and settles. Wednesday turns mainly clear with a high of 78.6 but a much cooler low of 56.4 - the chilliest night of the week - and Thursday is overcast with a high of 76.8 and a precipitation reading of 6 percent. Friday and Saturday run overcast with highs of 77.3 and 77.9 (Saturday's precipitation reading is 19 percent), and Sunday turns mainly clear again at 79.6.
For Monday itself, there is nothing to work around: no rain in the feed and a warm afternoon for the last day of the campaign. Candidates making their final Austin stops will do it in short sleeves. Voters making their plan for Tuesday should now make it with real rain in it - and go anyway.
